The entire stringless pod is consumed. They are best harvested just as the peas inside the pod start to swell. The flavor is super sweet. I snack on these as I work around the garden. Harvest regularly which will keep the vines producing over a longer period of time. It can get tricky trying to grow in warmer climates like zones 8 and higher. Snap peas absolutely do not like heat. Too much heat will stunt their growth and crisp the leaves.
